Background

OWANMWAN Aquaculture Limited (OMAL) was registered and domiciled in Kampala, Uganda as a private limited company principally as an aquaculture business.

Consultancy in fisheries and aquaculture fields

Site suitability studies/surveys for both pond based and cage based aquaculture farms.
Business planning for all aquaculture production systems, models and all scales of engagement.
Establishment of aquaculture farms (pond based, cage based,tanks) of various production scales.
Farm operation and management guidance for both grow-out and hatcheries.
Harvesting of fish, post harvest handling, value addition and marketing of farmed fish.
Needs assessment and development of training curriculum for farmers and training of trainers.
Baseline survey.
Aquaculture and fisheries proposal writing.

Fishing fry and fingerings (for all currently farmed species in Uganda including Nile tilapia; Singida tilapia; Zilli’s tilapia; African catfish; Victoria carp; Mirror carp; Barbel and others) Fish feeds; locally made and imported high quality feeds. Aquaculture drugs (chemicals) including sex reversal hormones; fish premix; breeding and spawning inducing hormones for African catfish; hatchery disinfectants; fish medicines etc Catfish conditioning hormones. Aqua mix-multi vitamin Feed ingredients. Aquaculture laboratory chemicals. Brood stock for tilapia, catfish and mirror carps.
